BAINBRIDGE  SPEEDWAY   -   BAINBRIDGE  OH

This track was located in Bainbridge Ohio.  It was a one mile dirt track that ran a distance of 100 laps.  Fonty Flock won the pole in his 1950 Oldsmobile.  Info on the track and the race is hard to find; but it was opened in 1946. The Cup race had a field of 34 cars, and this was the only NASCAR race ever held there.  Flock started on the pole and led all 100 laps and averaged 65 mph.  Dick Rathman finished second and was followed by Frank Mundy, Jimmy Florian and Oda Green.  The track did host a Indy car race in 1947. It too was scheduled for 100 laps; but was shortened to 90 because of rain.  The field just consisted of 15 cars.  Walt Brown started on the pole and led the first 22 laps before he had mechanical failure.  Ted Horn would go on to win by over a lap over Bill Holland.  The track closed and was razed in 1951.
