CHRISTOPHER  DAVID  BELL   -   12/16/1994

Bell started racing in 2011, winning the 66 Mike Phillips Memorial micro-sprint car race.  The following year, he finished second in the Short Track Nationals at I-30 Speedway, a race sanctioned by the American Sprint Car Series.  In 2013, he joined Keith Kunz Motorsports in USAC racing, replacing Kyle Larson.   On October 31, he joined CH Motorsports' sprint car racing program.  Bell concluded 2013 as the USAC National Midget Champion.  In 2014, he began racing asphalt Super Late Models for Kyle Busch Motorsports, including competing in the World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series.  On May 7, he won his first career WoO Sprint Car Series race at Jacksonville Speedway.  As a Super Late Model driver, he won races at New Smyrna Speedway, South Alabama Speedway and Southern National Motorsports Park.  During the year, he won 24 Quarter Midget races and 26 total dirt races, including the Turkey Night Grand Prix. In 2015, Bell made two NASCAR K&N Pro Series West starts at Irwindale Speedway and Iowa Speedway, driving the #54 for Bill McAnally Racing, he finished 15th and second,

respectively.  In June, Bell returned to Iowa to make his Camping World Truck Series debut for KBM in the American Ethanol 200.  Bell finished second to KBM teammate Erik Jones in the race's practice session, and finished fifth in the race.  On July 8, Bell was announced as Justin Boston's replacement in the No. 54 at Kentucky Speedway.  Bell won his first career Truck race in the Mudsummer Classic at Eldora Speedway after holding off Bobby Pierce on the green–white–checker finish.  On October 29, 2015, KBM announced that Bell will compete full-time in the Truck Series in 2016.  His season started on a terrifying note at Daytona, when on the final lap, Brandon Brown pushed Timothy Peters into him causing his truck to spin.  His truck gripped the track, causing it truck to go on two wheels  before it launched into the air and barrel rolled multiple times.  The following week at Atlanta Motor Speedway,

Motor Speedway, Bell was leading the race on his way to win, when he blew a tire and crashed into the wall, ending his day. Bell finished on the lead lap the following race at Martinsville; albeit in 19th.  Things took a turn upward the next race as he got his first Top 5 of the season; and followed that up with a third place finish at Dover.  He broke through to win at Gateway Raceway located just outside St. Louis and went on a run the remainder of the season having just one finish outside the top eleven.  He ended the season with 11 top 5 finishes and 17 top 10's finishing third in the points chase.  In 2017 Bell picked up where he had left off at the end of the 2016 season.  He won at Atlanta and would post three more wins during

the season.  He only had two finishes outside the Top 10; once with a mechanical failure and once with a crash.  He had 15 Top 5's in 23 starts.  Bell advanced through every round of the Chase and made it to Homestead.  He finished second in the race, edging out Johnny Sauter to claim the Truck Series Title.  Also during the season Bell made eight starts in the Xfinity Series driving for Joe Gibbs.  In only his second start he posted a win at Iowa leading 152 laps in the 250 lap event.  Of the eight races; he finished in the top 6 on six occasions.  Bell would move full time to the Xfinity Series in 2018 driving for Joe Gibbs and run for the Championship.  As 2018 kicked off, Bell had ran 53 Truck Series events and posted 7 wins; and a Championship;

along with the Xfinity stats posted above.  In his first full year in the Xfinity Series, Bell would post a whopping seven wins and looked like a shoe-in to win the Championship. He won at Phoenix advancing to the Championship race at Homestead; but with a win in sight with less than 30 laps to go Bell scraped the wall and damaged his car enough it put him out of the running for the win. He ended up finishing 11th in the race. Bell was back with the Gibbs Xfinity team in 2019; and once again proved to be one of the strongest teams in the Xfinity Series.  He was part of "the Big Three" who won a majority of Xfinity races and were always running up front.  The other two were Tyler Reddick and Cole Custer.  Bell had an even better season in 2019 as he posted eight wins; and 20 Top 5's.  These

three all easily advanced to the Championship race at Homestead and all swapped the lead the final 35 laps.  At the end Reddick seemed to have his car the best for the final run to the checkers and won the Championship.   Custer was second and Bell finished fifth.  On September 19, 2019, Bell in conjunction with fellow racer Chad Boat announced the formation of CB Industries, a World of Outlaws sprint car team fielding the #21 Mobil 1 Toyota for Christopher Bell. In the team's first-ever race on September 21, 2019, they won the Jim Ford Classic. CB Industries fields cars, and guides young talent, in the Midget and micro-midget series for sprint cars.  But big news is in the offing for 2020.  A lot of driver shuffling went on in the Cup series late in the 2019 season and room was made for Bell

to  move to the Cup series full time.  He will drive the #95 Toyota for Levine Family Racing as Matt DiBenedetto was released.  LFR is an associate team of Joe Gibbs Racing and will receive much technical support.  Oddly enough ALL off 'the big three' moved to the Cup Series in 2020 driving for competitive teams.  Bell had Jason Ratcliff as his Cup crew chief.  2020 saw a great Rookie of the Year battle.  Bell; Cole Custer; Tyler Reddick; and John Hunter Nemechek had a great competition among themselves for the title.  Bell posted 13 finishes of 15th or better driving for Leavine Family Racing.  During the season it was announced that at the end of the season LFR would get out of NASCAR and would sell their Charter.  Shortly after that it was announced the Erik Jones would be let go from Joe Gibbs Racing at the end of 2020 and Bell would take his place for 2021.  He would finish third in

the Rookie battle just two points behind Reddick.  For the season Bell posted two Top 5 and seven Top 10 finishes. 2021 saw Christopher Bell claim his first Cup win.  It came on the road course at Daytona Speedway.  He had run well all day; but near the end he seemed to find his rhythm as he run down Joey Logano from several seconds back; passed him with two laps to go and grabbed the win.  This win qualified him for the Chase; and during the season posed two more second place finishes.  He was eliminated from the chase after the second Round.  He also made two starts in the Xfinity series.  He got the win at New Hampshire and finished sixth at Daytona.  After his break-through win in 2021; Bell would add three more wins in 2022.  Bell crossed the finish line second in the season

opening Daytona 500.  But a questionable penalty for passing below the yellow line left him with a 34th place finish.  He blew a motor the next race and finished 36th. He rebounded with a tenth place finish at Las Vegas; but finishes outside the top twenty the next two events had his season off to a rough start.  He began to turn things around with a third at the road course at COTA; and finished sixth the next race at Richmond.  Six of the following eight races saw him finish in the top ten.  He broke through and got a win at Loudon NH in July; out distancing Chase Elliott by five seconds.  This win secured him a spot in NASCAR's playoffs.  When they began, he was hitting on all cylinders as he finished fifth at Darlington; and followed that with finishes of third and fourth.  The next round saw him struggle as he got caught up in an incident that saw Bubba Wallace intentionally wreck Kyle Larson; and Larson's spinning car took out Bell.  The next race was

Talladega; where he finished in the lead pack; albeit in 17th.  This left him in a must-win situation to advance to the third round of the playoffs when they rolled into Charlotte to run on the Roval.  He pulled off the win in the last couple laps to advance.  Round three of the playoffs started off much like round two.  He was involved in an accident at Las Vegas and finished 34th.  An 11th place finish at Miami left him in a must-win position once again as the series moved to Martinsville.  Denny Hamlin looked strong and led most of the first 325 laps.  Bell got his car tuned in and led 150 of the final 175 laps to once again pull off the win and make the Championship four.  No one

had anything for Joey Logano in the championship race, as he would win the race and the Championship.  Bell ran around tenth all day and never led a lap.  He finished the race in tenth place; and third in the championship.  Bell was back with JGR is 2023.  He led 20 laps in the season opening Daytona 500 and pulled off a third place finish.  Except for a crash at Fontana and COTA his worst finish the first eight races was sixth place.  He grabbed his first win of the season at Bristol on the dirt after leading 100 laps. The win locked him into the Chase for the championship.  He kicked off the Chase by winning the pole the first three Chase races.  Consistent finishes each of the first two rounds advanced him forward toward a shot at the Championship.  At Miami, in the round of eight; he grabbed the win; locking himself into a shot to win the Championship at Phoenix.  In that race he ran well and finished inside the top ten at the end of stage one.  During

stage two, he had a brake caliper explode and cut atire; causing him to slam the outside wall and it ended his day and a shot at the Championship.  He was the only car to DNF.  He also made a couple starts in the Truck series; both for Shigeaki Hattori.  The first was at North Wilkesboro as NASCAR returned to the track for the first time in many years.  He finished 16th.  He also made a start at Pocono, making a great run, and bringing home the truck in fourth place.  Bell will be back with JGR in 2024  For his young Cup career Bell has made 144 starts; has six wins; 31 Top five and 62 Top ten finishes.  He has also made 77 Xfinity starts with 17 wins.  He also has 56 Truck series starts and seven wins.  Some info from Wikipedia
