BLOOMSBURG  FAIRGROUNDS   -   BLOOMSBURG  PA

The track is located in Bloomsburg PA and only hosted one NASCAR race. It was a 1/2 mile dirt track which also had a figure-8 track. In 1953 NASCAR held a Cup race here, and the facility also hosted numerous open wheel midgets and sprint cars races. The fair has been held here annually since 1855. The lone Cup race held here saw a 21 car starting field; and they went a distance of 200 laps. Herb Thomas would cover the distance the fastest and get checkered flag. The rest of the top five was Dick Rathman, Buck Baker, Elton Hildreth and Bob Welborn. After that auto racing took a hiatus; but in 2021 it returned after 34 years on a newly

redesigned 3/8 mile banked dirt oval with a variety of race series. 2022 will see series such as the World of Outlaws; the All Star Circuit of Champions, USAC Sprints among others.
