TYLER  GEORGE  REDDICK   -   01/11/1996

Reddick began his racing career at the age of four, competing in Outlaw Karts; soon after he was competing in mini sprints, midgets, dirt late models and sprint cars.  He was the youngest driver to qualify for the pole position at Eldora Speedway World 100, the youngest driver to win at the East Bay Winter Nationals, and the youngest winning driver in the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series.  He is also the youngest driver ever to qualify for a feature race in World of Outlaws sprint car racing.  Reddick made his debut in the ARCA Racing Series in 2012; in October of that year, Reddick won in his first career start in the NASCAR K&N Pro Series East at Rockingham Speedway.  Reddick made his debut in the NASCAR Truck Series in April 2013, driving for Ken Schrader Racing at Rockingham Speedway.  In November 2013, it was announced that Reddick had been signed by Brad

Keselowski Racing to compete in the NASCAR Truck Series; he was scheduled to drive the team's #19 Ford in 16 events in the series in 2014, before running the full series schedule for the team in 2015.  On February 20, 2015, Reddick got his first career victory in the Truck Series at Daytona. Reddick would ultimately finish second in his first full year of competition.  In 2016, Reddick returned to BKR. Reddick would win at Las Vegas, for his first victory of the season.  Reddick joined Chip Ganassi Racing to drive the #42 Chevrolet Camaro in the Xfinity Series on a part-time basis starting in 2017.  In September that year, he won his first Xfinity race at Kentucky Speedway after leading 66 laps and winning with a 14-second advantage over teammate Brennan Poole.  On September 14, 2017, Reddick was signed by JR Motorsports to a full-time schedule for the 2018 Xfinity season, replacing William Byron, who was promoted to the NASCAR Cup Series, in the #9 car.  On February 17, 2018, Reddick beat teammate Elliott Sadler in a photo finish to win the season-opening race at Daytona; which qualified him for

the Chase.  He would go on to have six additional Top 5 finishes and 19 Top 10's before heading to the season final race at Homestead.  He had managed to work his way though every segment of the Chase and was in position to possible win the Championship.  That night at Homestead, the race saw the final 104 laps run under green.  Reddick had a good long run car and took the lead with 36 laps to go and drove on to a six second win; and claimed the 2018

Xfinity Championship.  He had book-ended the season winning the first and last races of the year.  On October 31, 2018, it was announced that Reddick will switch from JR Motorsports to Richard Childress Racing in 2019.  Reddick explained that his move to RCR was for a better chance to run in the NASCAR Cup Series in the near future.  The season kicked off with Reddick winning the pole for the Xfinity race.  He ran well and finished ninth.  He also made his first Cup start that weekend driving the RCR #31 car in the Daytona 500.  He ran well; but with about 40 laps to go he got run into from behind as he was entering pit road and it relegated him to a 27th place finish.  He would make

one additional Cup start in 2019.  At Kansas he would finish ninth.  Meanwhile in the Xfinity Series after Daytona Reddick ran off a string of Top 5 finishes.  The next twelve races he had no finish worse than fifth except for Las Vegas.  In that stretch he had three wins and three second place finishes.  The races always seemed to turn into a battle between 'the big three' - Reddick; Cole Custer and Christopher Bell.  The trio won 21 of the series 33 events.  Reddick reeled off two more wins prior to the start of the Chase.  The big three rolled through the various rounds and found themselves in at battle at Homestead to see who would claim the Championship.  Reddick won the pole and led the first 33 laps.  But he lost the handle and struggled to run inside the top five.  But after a few yellows where the crew got a chance to make adjustments; the car

came back around and he had again assumed the lead about the midway point.  From there it was a battle between the best three drivers of the season.  There was nine lead changes in the last 100 laps as the race ran the final 73 laps caution free.   Reddick run down Custer and passed him with 19 laps to go.   Reddick hung on to win and claim back to back Xfinity series titles while driving for two different teams in different years.  Reddick's gamble to leave JGR and go to RCR seems to have paid off.  It was announced in October that in 2020; Reddick would drive the #8 full time in the Cup series and RCR would not renew the contract of Daniel Hemric.  Hemric would go back to racing in the Xfinity series for JR Motorsports and Reddick would run for Rookie of the year and a big battle is expected as all of the "big three" drivers from the 2019 Xfinity series were moving up to drive for competitive teams and run for Rookie of the Year.  Reddick made the

step up to the Cup series in 2020 and drove the #8 Chevy for RCR.  He had three top five finishes, including a second at Texas.  He had ten top ten finishes and finished 19th in the points.  Reddick moving up to race for RCR seemed to increase the performance of both RCR teams and more was expected for 2021. Although he still failed to win a race he did see a big increase in Top 10 finishes; going from nine in 2020 to 16 in 2021.  At Homestead he made a great charge late in the race, passing every car is site.  He came from way behind to almost run down William Byron and had to settle for second place.  On the Roval at Charlotte he also had a great run finishing second.  He made the Chase; but was eliminated after the first round.  He also ran seven Xfinity races with a best finish of fifth.

He was back in the #8 car driving for RCR in 2022. Reddick began the 2022 season with a 35th place finish at the 2022 Daytona 500.  He finished 24th at Fontana; but had a good run the following week at Las Vegas finishing seventh.  He finished third at Las Vegas as the team began to hit it's stride.  A crash at Atlanta relegated him to a 28th place finish, before he finished fifth on the road course at COTA.  At the Bristol dirt race, he battled Chase Briscoe for the lead on the closing laps when Briscoe lost control and caused both cars to slide on the final turn, leading to Reddick finishing second to Kyle Busch.  Three weeks later he again finished second, this time at Darlington.  When the Cup Series went to the road course at Elkhart Lake; Reddick showed his road racing prowess.  He passed Chase Elliott late in the going to get his first career Cup win.  A

month later, on the road course at Indianapolis, he won again as he parked his car in victory lane.  In between wins some turmoil was created.  In early July, Reddick had announced he had signed a contract to drive for 23XI Racing starting in 2024.  This caught owner Richard Childress off guard and caused some ill feelings.  But by winning at Indianapolis; Reddick showed he intended to give RCR the best he had while he was there.  He finished seventh at Watkins Glen and closed out the regular season with a second at Daytona.  As the play-offs kicked off he had a strong third place run at Darlington, but blew a

motor at Michigan.  Reddick was eliminated in the Round of 16 after being involved in a multi-car pileup at the Bristol night race.  Despite his elimination, he scored his third career win at Texas a week later.  Reddick retired from the Martinsville playoff race early, as he was feeling sick and got a bad headache.  He finished the year 14th in the points standings.  In the end; Reddick will be going to 23Xi Racing at the end of the 2022 season.  Joe Gibbs Racing

never was able to get a sponsor to come on board and sponsor Kyle Busch; so Busch signed a contract with RCR to drive the #8 Reddick was driving.  Since Kurt Kusch got a concussion and will not return to full time racing in 2022; Reddick will take that ride; and Ty Gibbs will fill the seat at JGR vacated by Busch.  Reddick was also busy in the Xfinity Series.  He made five starts there, and won at Texas.  He added a fourth at Atlanta.  He had finishes outside the top 20 the other three races.  Reddick had a season very much like the one he had in 2022.  It started off on a rough note as he crashed out of the Daytona 500 about the mid-way points and finished 39th.  He crashed again the next race

at Fontana finishing 34th.  Things improved at Las Vegas when he finished 15th.  The next three races he was in the top five, and got a win at COTA.  The next eight races he was up and down.  He had four races inside the top ten, and the other four were 16th or worse.  Then he hit a bad streak finishing no better than 27th the next five events.  More of the same inconsistency followed over the next seven races.  He had locked himself into the playoffs with his win at COTA.  When the Chase started he finished second at Darlington.  The next race at Kansas he won, advancing himself to the Round of 12.  Finishes of 25th, 16th and sixth saw him squeak through to the Round of 8.  In that round he finished eighth and third, but at Martinsville he finished 26th and missed the final race for

the Championship.  He ended up sixth in the season points.  He also made two starts in the Xfinity series, both driving for Sam Hunt Racing.  He finished 36th at Fontana, but ran much batter and was 13th at Las Vegas.  He will be back with 23XI Racing in 2024.  For his career, he has made 146 Cup starts; and has five wins; 26 Top 5 and 57 Top 10 finishes.  In the Xfinity Series he has 98 starts; ten wins; 38 Top 5 and 58 Top 10 results.  His Truck starts have saw him run 63 events.  He has three wins; 25 Top 5 and 40 Top 10 finishes.  Some info from Wikipedia
