JEFF  STANKIEWICZ   -   05/02/1983

Stankiewicz got his first shot at being a crew chief in 2010 when he led Brian Scott who drove for Todd Braun.  He left after nine races and went to work for Turner Motorsports.  His drivers produced one Top 10 as Jason Leffler would finish tenth at Homestead.  He began his NASCAR Truck crew chief career in 2011 with Brad Keselowski Racing and driver Parker Kligerman; the duo finished the year 11th in points. 2014 saw him take on a full time crew chief position for driver Joey Coulter, who drove for Maury Gallagher and GMS Racing.  They posted three Top 5’s.  The next season, Stankiewicz switched to crew chief for Gallaghers son, Spencer.  They only were able to get one Top 5.  2016 saw him lead various drivers, and it saw Stankiewicz get his first NASCAR win.  It came when Grant Enfinger got the win at  Talladega.  He added a second win when Kyle Larson won on the dirt at Eldora.  The next two years he only served as crew chief for six races.  But in 2018, Stankiewicz stepped down to the ARCA Series to lead up and coming driver Sheldon Creed.  They had an impressive season.  In 20 races, Creed won four times.  Then had 16 Top 5 and 18 Top 10

finishes.  2019 saw him move to the NASCAR Truck Series, and start out as the crew chief for owner Randy Young and his driver Gus Dean.  They had no success and Stankiewicz went back to GMS leading the efforts of Sheldon Creed for the final five races of the season.  They had no finish worse than 12th and had four Top 10’s.  Since the reunion produced such success, and it came immediately, Stankiewicz was hired to be the full time chief for Creed in 2020.  Success continued as they won five times, and claimed the Truck Series Championship.  2021 saw Creed win three times; but just missed making the Championship race and finished fifth in the points.  Creed moved up to the Xfinity Series in 2022, and Stankiewicz went along to be his crew chief, as they both come GMS Racing to work for owner Richard Childress. It was thought Creed would be a formidable competitor right from the start.  Through the first 17 races they were only able to accumulate six top ten finishes.  Things began to get better the second half of the season as they had finishes of fifth at Loudon and Pocono.  A few weeks later they almost pulled off the win, finishing second at Darlington.  The rest of the season's nine races, they had five finishes of 12th or better including another second at Martinsville.  For the year they had four top five and 12 top ten finishes. The pair was back together again in 2023 but the duo had much the same results as in 2022.  They didn’t get any wins, but was close several times.  They were second at Talladega, and then again at Watkins Glen and Daytona.  They made the playoffs, and got to the Round of 8.  At Martinsville both Creed and his teammate Austin Hill had a shot to advance to the Championship race at Phoenix.  In the waning laps Hill was leading with Creed on his tail, and with a much faster car.  Hill just needed a good finish to advance; and Creed had to win.  In the final corner of the race, Creed got inside Hill.  If Hill lets Creed go, and follows him to the line, both make it to the Championship race.  But instead; Hill run back down into Creed and causes him to get loose.  Both slid up the track and Justin Allgaier was there to pounce and dove inside both of them.  Allgaier grabbed the win while Creed finished second and just missed the Chase.  Hill spun and finished far enough back that he also missed the Chase.  For the season, the duo had seven top five finishes and 15 top tens.  Creed decided he had had enough an announced he would be leaving RCR at the end of the season, even though he had no offers to go anywhere else.  ARCA driver Jesse Love will move up to wheel the #2 in 2024, and will have Danny Stockman as his crew chief.  Rumors say that Creed will go to JGR to drive.  No word as of now on where Stankiewicz will end up.
