NATALIE  MARIE  DECKER   -   06/25/1997

Born in Eagle River WI; Decker begged her father for a go kart and received one at nine years old.  From that young age, Natalie set her goals high in the motorsports industry.  Decker won four karting championships in two years.  From there, it was a move into full-sized stock cars.  She began racing in 4-cylinder modified stock cars as a 12-year-old; in 2011 she moved up to the Super Stock class and won the 2012 class championship at Marshfield Motor Speedway.  She was the CWSSA Super Stock champion out of a talented field of 35 drivers.  Another step up the racing ladder led her to becoming the Sportsman of the Year in the Midwest Truck Tour and one win and the Rookie of the Year crown in the Triple Crown Super Truck Series.  Decker began racing in the ARCA Midwest Tour and took the 2013 Rookie of the Year by finishing third in points.  At State Park Speedway in Wisconsin, Decker had 10 fast times and seven feature races in 2014, leading her to the track championship.  She was also a winner in the Super Late Model division at Wisconsin’s Golden Sands Speedway and on the competitive TUNDRA Super Late Model series in the upper Midwest in 2014 as well..  She was added to the Rev Racing team in 2015 as she was named to the NASCAR Drive for Diversity program.  She was one of seven drivers to compete in the 2016 Alan Kulwicki Driver Development program.  Decker joined her cousins Paige Decker and Claire Decker in attempting to make the field for the Alpha Energy Solutions 250 at

Martinsville Speedway on April 2, 2016.  Decker was 38th fastest in qualifying and her MAKE Motorsports entry did not make the field.  In 2017 she drove seven ARCA races for Venturini Motorsports.  He had a worst finish of 13th; except for one race where she fell out with steering issues.  In 2018, she returned to Vinturini Motorsports to race for the full season.  She had two Top 5's and nine Top 10's; with a worst finish of 16th except for one race where she crashed.  She finished seventh in the season points.  After setting eyes on the course at Road America at the age of 10, Natalie Decker fell in love.  Decker had her eyes and heart set on something more, the 14 turns, 4-mile beauty, that is Road America’s main attraction.  Competing in the

ARCA series as she found herself back at the track she grew up loving as a kid.  After starting 16th in the 28 car field, she battled her way to a 7th place finish.  Long-time family friend Tony Ave let it be known he wanted her to drive his car in the Trans-Am Series.  Then almost a year after her ARCA race at Road America, on August 25th of 2018, the time had come for her first time in the Trans-Am car.  This time it was full throttle mode, racing in her N29 Technologies sponsored 850 horsepower Corvette in the Trans-Am series for Ave Motorsports.  In that race, she climbed all the way into 9th position before a mechanical issue stalled her progress and she had to settle for a 15th place finish.  On November 30, 2018, DGR-Crosley announced plans for Decker to run a partial Truck Series schedule for the team in the 2019 season, along with some

ARCA and K&N Pro Series events.  Decker's Truck series debut at Daytona saw her #54 Toyota cut a left front tire and rupture an oil line, setting the truck on fire on the first lap.  At Kentucky Speedway in July, Decker was involved in an on-track incident with Spencer Boyd, eliminating both drivers from the race. Later, in the truck garage, Decker took Boyd’s hat off his head and slammed it on the ground before being verbally warned by a NASCAR official stating "that's enough.  She was escorted away by her team.  She found the sledding tougher in the NASCAR Series than ARCA.  She posted a best finish of 13th and was involved in seven crashes.  Decker signed with Niece Motorsports for the 2020 season.  On February 14, 2020, she finished fifth at Daytona, becoming the highest-finishing female driver in Truck Series history.  She missed the

Pocono race after being hospitalized for bile duct complications related to her gall bladder surgery in December 2019.  On September 25, Decker was not medically cleared to race at Las Vegas after experiencing a high heart rate and high blood pressure; because her truck had cleared inspection and was placed on the starting grid, she was credited with a last-place finish in the race.  Decker later pinpointed high blood pressure as the cause for fatigue, but with a deeper cause undetermined, she also missed the following race at Talladega Superspeedway.  Decker was scheduled to make her Trans-Am SGT class debut at Road Atlanta with Ave Motorsports in November 2020, but was forced to miss the race after testing positive for COVID-19.  It is possible Decker will be

back with Niece Motorsports to drive part time in 2021.  Natalie moved up from the Truck series to run part time in the Xfinity Series.  She only ran five races as it appeared her career has stalled.  Two races she got involved in other people’s crashes.  Her other three starts she finished 24th, 25th and 26th.  She completed every lap in those races, except for two (at Nashville).  Natalie had her struggles in 2022.  Sponsorship was an issue; and no one had agreed to provide her with a ride.  So, she was having to work to get a sponsor and approach owners about buying a ride for various races in the Xfinity Series.  She attempted the Daytona season-opener with the #33 for Reaume Brothers Racing, but failed to qualify.  However, she did qualify for the April Martinsville race,

driving the #28 RSS Racing Ford in a collaboration with RBR.  She started 38th and was running when the checkers fell, and came home in 35th spot.  She attempted to make the field the following week at Talladega, but once again was not fast enough.  He made the field at Nashville starting 37th; and was again running at the finish, finishing 32nd.  Her next attempt came at Atlanta where she ran a good race and finished only two laps down on the newly reconfigured, fast, super speedway.  She started 37th but moved up to 27th by the end of the race.  Decker was also going to run the race at Daytona in August driving the #5 for B. J. McLeod Motorsports.  However, her sponsor, Diesel Beverages, was not approved in time for the race.  Diesel Beverages is a hemp/CBD product, which NASCAR had to examine if it would be approved as a sponsor.  Plans for

what she will do in 2023 are uncertain.  Due to her limited opportunities over the last couple years; it is believed she will really have to perform well in what future races she runs to keep the door open on her racing career.  Decker made one start in the ARCA Series in 2023.  It came on the high banks of Daytona in the season opening race.  She started 17th, race a good race and finished 14th on the lead lap.  She drove for Emerling-Gase Motorsports.  It was their first ARCA start.  Initial plans were to have Natalie drive some Xfinity races for them; but that never materialized.  She did make two starts in the Xfinity series.  One came for Bobby Dotter Racing behind the wheel of the #08 at Charlotte.  She would start 34th and finish 33rd.  Later she did get to make one start for Emerling-Gase Motorsports when she made at start at Daytona.  After starting 35th, she ran well before being caught up in an incident on lap 42 and fell out.  No plans on 2024 at this time.  Some info from Wikipedia
