COREY DAVID HEIM - 07/05/2002

Heim raced in Legends cars, winning the 2016 Young Lions division and the 2017 Thursday Thunder Pro division championship at Atlanta Motor Speedway. He later transitioned to running super late models, driving in events sanctioned by the CARS Tour, Southern Super Series, Pro All-Stars Series (PASS), and NASCAR Whelen All-American Series. Late in 2018, Heim crossed the finish line first in the ValleyStar Credit Union 300, but lost the race on a rules procedure. A short time later, he won his first CARS super late model race, at South Boston Speedway. Even after moving up to national touring series, Heim still raced at large late model events like Short Track Nationals. Heim began racing in the ARCA Menards Series in 2019. He joined Chad Bryant Racing to run 13 of 20 ARCA Menards Series events in the team's #22 car. He scored a top-five finish in his series debut, which came at Five Flags Speedway in March. Despite not running the full season, Heim ended up finishing 10th in the standings. Although he went winless, Heim never failed to finish any of his races, posted a
top five finish in eight of the 13 events, and scored a top 10 in all of them except for Nashville, where he finished 11th. On January 12, 2020, Heim announced a full-season CARS Late Model Stock Tour schedule with Lee Pulliam Performance. In January, it was announced that Heim would join Venturini Motorsports for seven total races: three in the ARCA Menards Series East, and two apiece in the ARCA Menards Series and the ARCA Menards Series West. Also in January, Heim won the SpeedFest 200 late model race in Georgia. In July of that same year, Heim placed fourth at Kansas Speedway in ARCA Menards Series competition after a flat tire dropped him from second on the final lap. In his return to Kansas in October, Heim led the most laps and won the race. In 2021, Heim was promoted to a full-time deal with Venturini, driving the #20

in the main ARCA Menards Series, replacing Chandler Smith. Heim would start the season with a win in the season-opener at Daytona. Two races later he won again at Talladega. Six races later; he won back-to-back at the big 2 1/2 mile track of Pocono, and then the 3/8 mile bullring of Elko Speedway. Before the season ended he would win at the road course of Watkins Glen and then on the mile dirt track at Springfield. It appeared Heim certainly had a handle on how to get around a wide variety of tracks. For the 20 race season he had six wins, 16 top five, and 20 top ten finishes. Along with the six wins he had four second place finishes. He also ran a hand full of NASCAR Truck races in 2021. It was revealed he would
make his Truck series debut driving the #51 for KBM at Darlington. He would finish 23rd after being wrecked from behind on a late race restart. In 2022 he split time between the ARCA Series and the Truck Series. He made seven starts in the ARCA cars, and won the season opening Arca race at Daytona. His only finish outside the top ten was when he was involved in an accident and finished 16th. He would win again at Kansas in September. He added two seconds and a third that year. In his Truck Series starts, he ran 16 of the 23 races. After being involved in a crash at Daytona, he finished 32nd. He bounced back and won his first NASCAR race at Atlanta making a daring last lap pass, as he swept around several cars on the last lap to win by inches. He would win again at St. Louis. For

the year he posted six top five and ten top ten finishes. Because he did not run a full-time schedule, he was ineligible for the playoffs. Heim finished the season 14th in points and won the 2022 Truck Series Rookie of the Year honors. In his first full season in the Truck series Heim saw some success in 2023. After moving from Kyle Busch Motorsports over to TRICON Garage he looked strong. He kicked off the year with an eighth place finish at Daytona, followed by a fourth at Las Vegas. A crash at Atlanta saw him finish 34th; but he came back strong with finishes of sixth at COTA and seventh at Texas. He finished 15th on the dirt a Bristol and broke through to get his first win of the year at Martinsville. The next 14 races saw him be dominant. All of those finishes saw him finish no worse
than eighth. He added two wins, three second place finishes and had ten Top 5’s. He easily advanced into the final race for the Championship and looked to be the truck to beat. At Phoenix, he won the pole and led 47 of the first 95 laps. Carson Hocevar was also in play to win the championship, along with Ben Rhodes and Grant Enfinger. Hocevar was in the top ten at the end of both stages as Heim won them. On lap 121 after a restart, with Heim leading, Hocevar tried to pass him on the inside going into turn one. His truck got loose and pushed up and spun

Heim. Hocevar also spun and the crash collected Stewart Friesen who had also been running well. This put Heim and Hocevar at the back of the pack, and suddenly the battle was between Rhodes and Enfinger to see who won the Championship. Heim was fuming mad at Hocevar and as Carson made move to pass Heim, Corey put Hocevar into the outside wall and effectively ended both of their days with four laps to go. The intentional wreck stole a win from Zane Smith who had driven away from the rest of the field and looked to being cruising to the win. After this yellow; the Truck series drivers seemed to lose their minds. It was the worst display of driving in a long time. Three more yellows came out as NASCAR tried to get the
race concluded with it’s 2 lap over time shoot out. It took until lap 179 to see the checkers wave. Christian Eckes ended up winning the race, while Ben Rhodes won the Championship. Heim also made his first Xfinity start in 2023. He drove four races for Sam Hunt Racing, with his first start coming at Dover. He had an engine expire just 30 laps from the end, and finished 35th. At Darlington, he made a great run and got his first career Top 10. Suspension issues relegated him to 37th at Pocono, but his final start, again at Darlington; saw him run well and finish 15th. Heim was back with TRICON Garage for 2024, and had a busy season. Along side the full time truck series ride, he also raced some in Xfinity and Cup. In the truck series he kicked off the season strong with a second place

finish at Daytona, just getting beat out by Nick Sanchez. The following week he ran third at Atlanta, and followed that with another third place run at Las Vegas. When the trucks traveled to Bristol he was again strong as he finished in sixth place. At COTA he was the class of the field, leading 31 of 46 laps and getting his first win of the year. A tenth place finish followed at Martinsville, and he was just beat out for the win at Texas, where he finished second to Kyle Busch. At Kansas he was back in the winner's circle as he was again dominant leading 79 of 134 laps to get the win. His first DNF came the following week
at Darlington as he was involved in a multi-truck on lap 99, leaving him with a 28th place finish. Dean Thompson lost control of his truck and initiated an extensive pile-up when he got into Heim at the start of the final stage. The wreck also collected Rajah Caruth, Lane Riggs, Matt Crafton and others. Heim had been the class of the field winning the first two stages. But the team showed it resiliency the following week when Heim was back in the winners circle at North Wilkesboro. Heim won again the following week at Charlotte after leading 72 laps, but in post race inspection, the truck was found to have three loose lug nuts; which is an automatic disqualification. Heim ended

up being scored as finishing last. At St Louis, Heim's team again showed their mettle as they led 65 laps and once again when the checkers flew, he was first across the line. He had a strong run at Nashville, but no one had anything for Christian Eckes who led all 150 laps. Heim finished third. At Pocono, Heim led 55 of 70 laps, again winning both stages, and once again saw himself go to victory lane. This gave the team four wins in the span of seven races. When the play-offs kicked off Heim finished second at Bristol; before winning the next race at Kansas. This advanced him into the Round of 8. There he finished 11th, fourth and seventh and made it into the
Championship race at Phoenix. In the season ending race, no one could touch Ty Majeski as he was stout all night; leading 132 of 150 laps to claim the championship. Heim finished second. For the season he posted six wins, 14 top five and 18 top ten finishes. In the Xfinity series, Heim ran 13 of 33 races, all of them for owner Sam Hunt. He was competitive as he finished 13th in his first race at Las Vegas. He finished 22nd at Phoenix, but ran well at Richmond where he scored points in both stages, led some laps and brought home the #26 Toyota in fourth place. Later, at Iowa he had an even better run finishing in third spot. He had one additional top five run in the series when he finished fifth at Atlanta. He made his first ever Cup start at Dover when he had to fill in for Erik Jones. Jones had taken an ugly nose-first crash into the outside wall at Talladega the week before and later announced that he had suffered a compression fracture in a lower vertebra. Jones would miss two weeks recovering. Heim ran well in the car finishing 25th; about the same place Jones finished on many occasions. In his second start Heim showed he learned something in the first race, as he finished on the lead lap in 22nd. His other Cup start he drove for 23XI, but got involved in an accident and finished 29th. Before the season kicked off, Heim paired with Bubba Wallace and John Hunter Nemechek to race in the IMSA Michelin Pilot Challenge on the road course at Daytona. This was an effort to polish up the road racing skills. They finished 41st overall and 27th in class. Heim will be back wheeling the truck for TRICON Motorsports again in 2025, and with the success he had in 2024 is expected to be the leading candidate to win the championship.
