PARKER  LINDSLEY  KLIGERMAN   -   08/08/1990

Kligerman was born in Stamford CT, and lived there until he was 11 then moved to neighboring Westport, Connecticut; where he stayed there until his move to NASCAR.  Kligerman is the co-founder and president of Focus Now Solutions, the manufacturer of focus-enhancing beverage product Focus7 Shot.  He graduated from Staples High School in his hometown of Westport, Connecticut in 2009.  As part of Penske's driver development program, in 2008 Kligerman drove the #77 Cunningham Motorsports Dodge in two races in the ARCA RE/MAX Series.  He drove the car full-time in 2009, finishing second in points in his rookie season.  He made his Xfinity Series debut for Penske in their #22 car at Kansas Speedway that year and won the pole.  He was slated to contest the first five races of the 2010 NASCAR Xfinity Series season with Team 42 with additional appearances possible.  However, he failed to qualify at Daytona and Bristol.  After missing the show at Bristol he was out of the car until returning for the eighth race of the season at Talladega.  He earned his first Top 10 finish at Bristol's second race with a

ninth-place finish.  Kligerman competed for Rookie of the Year in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series in 2011, driving the #29 Ram for Brad Keselowski Racing.  He returned to the #29 truck in 2012, and also drove the Penske Racing #22 in the Xfinity Series on a limited schedule, sharing the seat with Brad Keselowski and Jacques Villeneuve.  After the first eleven races of the 2012 season, Kligerman was released from his ride at Brad  Keselowski Racing.  Shortly thereafter, Red Horse

Racing announced that they had signed a contract with Kligerman to drive the #7 Toyota for the remainder of the season.  Kligerman won his first Camping World Truck Series race at Talladega Superspeedway on October 6, 2012.  A fringe title contender late in the season, Kligerman was officially eliminated from championship contention after being involved in a crash at Phoenix and finishing in 27th place.  The next week he would make his final start for Red Horse Racing in the 2012 season finale at Homestead-Miami Speedway, winning his second career pole and finishing in 7th place. He finished 5th in the series points standings.  Announcing that he would not be returning to Red Horse Racing or the Camping World Truck Series in 2013, Kligerman signed with Kyle Busch Motorsports to drive their #77 Toyota Camry in the

NASCAR Xfinity Series full-time in 2013.  In November 2013, Kligerman made his Sprint Cup debut at Texas Motor Speedway in the AAA Texas 500, driving for Swan Racing.  He finished 18th in the event, Swan's best result in 2013.  For 2014, Swan Racing announced Kligerman's hiring for the full 2014 season, as part of an expansion to two full-time teams, alongside Cole Whitt.  Due to sponsorship woes and on track struggles including many DNFs and wrecked race cars in the first eight races, Swan was forced to sell off both of its teams prior to Richmond, with the #30 points being bought by Xxxtreme Motorsport, who already had a driver in J. J. Yeley.  Thus, Kligerman was without a ride.  However, Swan continued to keep Kligerman under  contract for the remainder of the year in the event they would resume operations.  On May 14th,  Stewart-Haas Racing announced that Kligerman would

serve as a practice and stand-by driver for Kurt Busch in the #41 at the Sprint All-Star Race and Coca-Cola 600 when Busch was attempting the 600-Indianapolis 500 "Double Duty".  Kligerman began working with NBC Sports Network (NBCSN) as an analyst later in the 2014 season.  In September, he announced that he would test an Indy Lights car for Schmidt Peterson Motorsports.  In 2015, Kligerman continued his work with NBCSN, including commentary on tape-delayed broadcasts of the K&N Pro Series.  At Darlington in September, he returned to competition, driving the #97 Chevrolet for Obaika Racing in the Xfinity Series.  On February 3, 2016, it was announced that Kligerman would drive the #92 Ford F-150 for RBR Enterprises at Daytona in the Truck Series.  In July, Kligerman joined Athenian Motorsports for the Truck race at Kentucky, replacing an injured John Wes Townley.  In 2017, Kligerman returned to Henderson Motorsports to run 8–10 races in addition to serving as a Cup Series and Xfinity Series pit reporter for NBC Sports.  After starting the year with a DNQ at Daytona, Kligerman won at the schedule's second plate track Talladega in October.  After three years out of the series, in May 2018, Kligerman joined Gaunt Brothers Racing for his Cup Series return in the Coca-Cola 600.  In 2019, he ran 14 races for GBR, recording a best finish of 15th in the Daytona 500 and 1000 Bulbs.com 500.  He did not return to the team in 2020.  Despite not returning to the Cup series in 2020, Kligerman would rejoin Henderson for 10 Truck series starts that year in the #75 Silverado.

Kligerman would increase his truck schedule from 10 races to 12 races in 2021.  He would get two top fives at Watkins Glen and Darlington.  He would also rejoin Gaunt Brothers Racing for the Fall Kansas Race, where he managed to bring the #96 to a 20th-place finish.  Kligerman said that the car was one of the best Cup cars he has ever driven.  On July 9, 2022, in the O'Reilly Auto Parts 150 at Mid-Ohio, Kligerman earned his third victory in the Truck Series wheeling the #75.  As 2023 started Kligerman had acquired a full time ride in the Xfinity series wheeling the #48 Big

Machine Racing Chevy.  It took a little Kligerman and his team a little while to mesh as 2023 kicked off.  Results were inconsistent as he was only able to finish 23rd in the season opening race at Daytona.  He did finish tenth at Fontana, eleventh at Las Vegas and 15th at Phoenix.  They ran well at Atlanta, leading five laps and finishing fourth.  Over the next 13 races, he finished worse than 30th four times, but he also finished inside the Top 10 on four occasions.  Clearly better consistent finishes would have to happen is he was to make it into the Chase.  They put their nose to the grindstone and made it happen.  Starting the next race they finished ninth; and run off a string of six top 10 finishes; including a second at Elkhart Lake on the road course.  Issues at Darlington saw them finish 24th but they

bounced back with a fourth place finish at Kansas and they advanced to the Playoffs.  The first race saw them had issues and finish 31st.  The following race at Texas, he ran great and almost won, finishing second.  The win would have advanced him to the Round of 8.  He finished sixth on the Roval at Charlotte; but it wasn’t good enough to propel him forward.  He had two Top 10’s after he was eliminated from the playoffs and finished the year tenth in points.  He also made seven starts in the Truck series.  He drove the #75 Chevy for owner Charlie Henderson.  He made good runs, but seemed to be snake-bit in all the races.  The first four starts he fell out with DNF’s.  Two because of crashes, once with an oil leak and once with an electrical issue.  He did complete the whole race at Pocono; but only finished 22nd.  At Bristol it was the same thing; run the whole race

but finished 18th.  Finally at Talladega they put together a good run, leading laps and finishing ninth.  When he wasn’t racing; he spent time in the pits as a pit reporter for NBC Sports.  Kligerman was back full time in the Xfinity series wheeling the #48 in 2024.  Kligerman had a good season, as he ran competitive many weeks and posted some good finishes.  He announced mid-season that he would retire from full time racing at the end of 2024.  So, he and the team put a lot of extra effort from that point on to get Parker that first career Xfinity win.  The season started out rough when he was involved in a multi-car accident on the

backstraight at Daytona.  He was able to continue with damage, but finished two laps down in 25th.  At Atlanta he was 19th and the next race he finished just outside the top ten, when he came home 11th at Las Vegas.  The next four races he posted good runs finishing eighth, fifth, seventh and 12th.  Over the weeks good runs continued when he was sixth at Darlington, eighth at Portland and tenth at Sonoma.  During an eight week stretch of races; his worst finish was 13th, and he added a second place finish when he almost won at Atlanta, finishing just behind Austin Hill.

He pointed his way into the play-offs and finished in 12th place the first two events at Kansas and Talladega.  At Charlotte on the Roval, most observers felt like Kligerman got a raw deal when NASCAR's inconsistency for calling races came into play.  Parker took the lead on lap 57 of the 67 lap race.  He was leading easily coming to take the white flag.  A car spun and seemed to be off the track.  NASCAR held the yellow and the flagman waved the white flag.  Then well after Kligerman and several cars had gone by; he threw the yellow.  NASCAR said the race would go into overtime, even though the white had flown and the next flag was "supposed" to freeze the field and end the race.  NASCAR claimed the yellow light came on before Parker crossed the finish line.  It was questionable if that was true.  Replays showed it was pretty much simultaneous.  So NASCAR stole the win from Kligerman and the race went into overtime.  On the restart, the car behind Parker, jacked up his rear end on the restart picking his rear wheels off the ground and causing him to lose traction.  Several cars got by, and by the time Kligerman got going, he had fallen back.  In the end he finished sixth and missed advancing to the next round of the play-offs.  The win would have locked him into the Round of 8.  Still Parker and the team put it behind them and he had finishes of fifth, 11th, eighth and 14th to close out the season.  It is expected Parker will continue with his pit road duties for race broadcast and might run a race now and then in the future.  As of now, for his career Kligerman's stats look like his.  He had made 122 starts in the Xfinity Series, over ten season.  He only raced full time for three seasons. He almost won on several occasions, but that win always eluded him.  In the 122 starts he had 16 top five and 53 top ten finishes.  He also made 30 starts in the Cup series, all for lower tier teams, and had a best finish of 15th on two occasions (once at Daytona and once at Talladega, both driving for Gaunt Brothers).  He made 117 starts in the Truck series, and claimed three wins.  The first driving for Red Horse Racing in 2012 at Talladega.  He also won at Talladega in 2019 and 2022 at Mid-Ohio.  He had 23 top five and 53 top ten finishes.  Some info from Wikipedia.
