ANDY  STREET   -   11/17/?

Street called his first race as crew chief in 2019, working for Richard Childress, with driver Joe Graf Jr.  It would come in an Xfinity Series race at Richmond.  Graf started 16th, and finished 14th.  It was the only race for Street that year.  He remained with RCR in the Xfinity Series, in 2020, as four different drivers drove the #21 that year.  The most starts were made by Anthony Alfredo as he ran 19 events.  Alfredo posted the best finish for the car as he finished third at Texas late in the season.  Myatt Snider made eight starts with Street; and the duo had a best finish of fourth at Pocono.  Street aired with Kaz Grala for five events; and together their best finish was fourth at Road America.  Street led Snider full time, and the pair would get their first win at Homestead, as Snider outrun Brandon Jones by a fender.  This locked them into the Chase, but in the round of twelve; they finished well at Las Vegas (15th), and the Roval (8th); but a 31st place finish at Talladega was a

main reason they were eliminated after that round.  They ended the season ninth in points . Street returned for his third season as crew chief for Richard Childress Racing in 2022.  Andy Street was paired with Austin Hill.  They kicked off the season in perfect form, as they claimed the win at Daytona.  A few poor finishes were followed by second place results at Atlanta and COTA.  Mid-season they got on a hot streak going eight straight races, with no finish worse than ninth.  This string included a win at Atlanta.  The play-offs kicked off with a second at Texas, and he advanced to the next round.  In the round of eight; three of the spots to advance to the final four were taken by race winners.  Josh Berry won at Las Vegas; Noah Gragson won at Homestead; and Ty Gibbs won at Martinsville.  Only Justin Allgaier was able to advance on points.  Thus finishes of sixth; ninth and ninth wasn't good enough for Hill to make the final round of the play-offs.  He ended the season sixth in points and ninth in the race.  Hill and Street would pair together again in 2023.  They had a good season and even won at Daytona to kick off the year.  Two weeks later they won again, this time at Las Vegas.  In another two weeks they were in victory lane again, this time at Atlanta.  Through the first 23 races, they only had one finish worse than 18th.  They also ran well when the playoffs began.  The two got into one another at Bristol causing Hill to fall out.  But he still managed to advance to the next round.  At Martinsville both his teammate Sheldon Creed and Hill had a shot to advance to the Championship race at Phoenix.  In the waning laps Hill was leading with Creed on his tail, and with a much faster car.  Hill just needed a good finish to advance; and Creed had to win.  In the final corner of the race, Creed got inside Hill.  If Hill lets Creed go, and follows him to the line, both make it to the Championship race.  But instead; Hill run back down into Creed and causes him to get loose.  Both slide up the track and Justin Allgaier was there to pounce and dove inside both of them.  Allgaier grabbed the win while Creed finished second and just missed the Chase.  Hill spun and finished far enough back that he also missed the Chase.  For the year the duo had four wins, a whopping 16 top five and 24 top tens.  They finished fifth in points.   Street again led the efforts of Austin Hill in the Xfinity Series.  The pair had a year much like the one they had in 2023, including winning the season opening race at Daytona.  They followed that up with a win the next week at Atlanta. Two fourth place runs and a second, followed the next three races.  They had certainly gotten off to a hot start.  They continued racking up good finishes all year long.  The duo claimed yet another win when the series returned to Atlanta, but before the play-offs started.  When the play-offs began, he finished seventh at Kansas, but was 23rd at Talladega. He managed a fourth place finish at the Roval to advance to the Round of 8.  In that round, he won at Homestead to be locked into the race for the championship.  At Phoenix, Hill just missed the set-up and wasn't competitive all day.  No one had anything for Riley Herbst, but due to a late race yellow, Hill found himself at the front with just a hand full of laps to go. Street threw a hail-Mary as he left Hill out when everyone else pitted as the race went into overtime. Maybe with the clean air, and just two laps, luck would be on their side.  But it was not to be as the yellow flew again and several cars had bypassed Hill.  Now on old tires, and having lost the advantage of clean air on the cars nose, things looked dim.  When the race finished, Hill was in tenth spot, and fourth in season points.  For 2025, Street will lead the efforts of multiple drivers which will run select races in a third RCR car in the Cup Series.  The Kernersville, North Carolina native will also serve as crew chief for a limited number of Xfinity Series races.  In addition to crew chief duties, Street will provide competition direction and assistance to RCR’s alliance partners as NASCAR Xfinity Series engineering manager.  Chad Haney will serve as the new crew chief for Hill in 2025.
